Twill silk: “suppleness and opulence”

The twill silk fabric is widely used for luxury clothing accessories. It is easily recognised by its oblique stripes that are produced during the weaving process when the warp yarn is passed alternately below the weft thread. This specific technique provides a smooth and opulent fabric and produces exceptional colour and pattern definition.

All twill used for Robert Kerr collections is hand-printed in England or Italy, in the traditional manner. The weight of the twill silk varies across our collections, but whether the ties are thin and flexible (16oz), or slightly fuller and more opulent (36oz), you will appreciate the beautiful fabrics of the Kerr house.
